4 sessions, 2 arrangements, 90 minutes each session

Saturdays at 2:30 from January 16, every two weeks

With the completion of the 4 sessions, Ohara School of Ikebana Introductory Course international certification is also available.

We will get into some really interesting Japanese culture events with our Ikebana sessions.

About the Instructor:

Asae is a certified instructor of "Ohara School of Ikebana", the president of Ohara School of Ikebana NY Chapter, and the founder of Hanadojo. which delivers renowned authentic Ikebana experiences in NYC.

Graduated from NYU’s Master of Arts program and had a successful choreographer and performer career for 10 years, being a mother of two, Asae returned to Japan for two years and recognized the importance of ethical education for children and the deep connection of ethics to many Japanese cultural activities.

During the past five years after she comes back to New York, she has taken initiative to establish various educational programs, events, and successful philanthropic activities and ZenshowJyuku’s IKEBANA program to engaged young students’ hearts and inspired children to create a charitable deforestation activity in partnership with One Tree Planted.

Materials you will need:

If an adult or an additional family member wants to arrange the flower at the same time, an additional set of materials will need to be ready.

1) Plate - Any shallow dish about 10" in diameter and MAX 2” in height will work, like a pasta bowl.

2) Kenzan-Floral Arrangement Pin Needle Holder, 4x3” or equivalant size

3) Scissors - Garden Scissor will work as well

4) Wire, Floral Tape, Bamboo Skewers

4) Cloth

5) Water

6) Flowers - will be instructed before each session

If you cannot find some of the materials, you can order them here to be delivered or picked up at Battery Park City in Manhattan or Park Slope in Brooklyn.
